The offer ends Thursday morning/lunchtime.

I wondn't go for any of the cheaper ones as they are of inferior quality.

That's crap tbh. You wouldn't go for any of the others because you believe them to be of inferior quality.

Utajoker, go for the Viewsonic VX2025wm. It's as close you will get to £250 without compromising on picture quality.

I would also suggest you look at the Philips 200W6CS offering, but it is out of stock at the moment.

The Samsung SM-205BW is the last option out of the three and you would suffer in terms of colour and viewing angle if you were to go with it. For this reason I do not recommend it.

I'm with shine on this one. After doing extensive searching on these forums about with Belinea, Viewsonic and Philips and there's quite a number of reports of backlight bleed on both the Belinea and Viewsonic, and even some on the Philips. Also the Belinea and Viewsonic aren't as flexible about how they display non-native resolutions. Plus the Philips isn't as attractive as, for instance the Dell. The Dell also has the most flexible stand, and extra cool stuff like picture-in-picture, s-video and composite inputs, and HDCP.

I think there's enough there to warrant the extra £20 over the Viewsonic. The philips is still a good option, but it's getting hard to find for the £260 you could get it for a few months ago.

Yes, that's what I said. :D

No you said they were, not that you thought they were. You can't unequivocally say the 2007WFP is better quality than everything else without providing some proof.

Backlight bleed is variable and its seen between all the major manufacturers. The 2007WFP is no exception to this,a quick google turns up cases of it suffering from backlight bleed.

Besides, the OP asked for alternatives to the dell offering.

When you put it like that I agree an extra £20 (or whatever it is) is worth it for HDCP compliance. Then again if that doesn't mean much to you then its a £20 saving...

He just did ...and he doesn't have to do anything. So may I suggest you take a chill pill, go make yourself a nice hot cup of tea and go and think about happy things.

Incidentally, I would recommend the Dell for the extra adjustments and alround flexibility.

I don't mean to come across pushy or whatever. I just disagree that the dell offering is of better quality than what the other manufacturers offer. Apologies for coming on strong shine.

I'm asking where's the proof that it's better quality

I would pay the extra £20 just for a height adjustable stand TBH. I've also read the Viewsonic doesn't stretch images below 1680*1050 to fill the screen and you have to rely on your video card to do it, which I've read only works on nvidia cards, and I have ATI. Dunno if that's entirely accurate, but it is what I read.

Still I'm not knocking the viewsonic since I've never used one and it does look very nice.

It does stretch the image, regardless of the video card.

That said I'm on ATI but I've never tried it on Nvidia. I haven't had to change any config for it though.

ATI if I remember also has 1:1 mapping settings in the catalyst control panel
