On the wagon, sorta
My youngest daughter is 23 and only 2 weeks ago she, her sister & friends were talking and Freddie Mercury came up.
My daughter said 'Isn't he the donkey in Shrek?'.
She paid for it big time on Facebook.

Anyway, I might give Queen 1 & 2 a play - proper Queen when the music press called them the new Led Zeppelin.

Yeh i felt like a muppet for years after, now its a very funny family story, my Dad tells it so epically i really do not do it justice.

My girlfriend called it depressing music (stupid girl) needless to say she paid the price!

I'm pleased to say that I was lucky enough to see the great man live.
I was at Wembley for the Magic tour back in 86 and what an amazing gig it was too.

I was quite a youngster, but thankfully had a cousin who was a big fan and took me along.

Freddie's passing is up there (in my eyes) with the passing of a Beatle.
So badly missed - the perfect front man.

Don't have any memories of the event myself as i'd have only been 6.

But I agree that he was the best front man ever. I like countless bands more than Queen, but I put Freddie Mercury up there with Dave Gahan as my favorite front men/vocalists ever. Such an amazing talent.

I grew up listening to Queen a lot as they were my Dad's favorite band.
