I have:
Asrock 4coredual VSTA 775
E4300 @ 2.7Ghz.
1gb PC3200 (taking up all 2 of the DDR slots)
ATi 9800 Pro
Tagan 480W

So the main parts I need are the Graphics card and ram.

But should i JUST get a very good graphics card, or get an average graphics card and 2gb of DDR2 ram.
Any combo recommendations?

The PC is used as a media centre, and for games.

If you can push to it get a 7900GS and 2GB Geil 6400C4 RAM. If not then a 7600GT would still provide a very big boost in graphics. I think that would provide a greater overall performance boost then just the GTS. Granted the GTS would mean most games would run maxed out but you'd probably still be getting stuttering and long load times. 2GB RAM really speeds up loading times massively. Used to take me 2-3 minutes to load wwiio. Now it's done in maybe 30 seconds.

The 7600GT or 7900GS are both well capable of running most games at full graphics on 1280x1024 especially with a nice 2GB set of RAM.

I'd personally grab an 8800GTS then upgrade the RAM ASAP later.
Definately the best option IMO ;) Save up for a ram upgrade afterwards - £100 should see you off with 2GB DDR2 G.Skill :)
