I would appreciate it if you guys can give me a little advice i am looking upgrading from a e8400 and only need a CPU,MB and RAM as i have a decent PSU, Antec 900 case and a 560Ti GPU,i am looking for my new rig to be able to run Ghosts at 1920x1080 but not bothered about MAX graphics settings, unfortunatley I only have the above £200 to spend on all three so am looking at the AMD FX 6350 and the AMD A10 can you guys give me advice on what is better or indeed suggest any alternatives?

id go with the FX6300 and overclock it to 4.5/4.6, which pretty much any fx6300 will do.

i wouldnt go with that board above (m5a97) because there not good for overclocking. (i know, i have one :p), and its pretty unstable when it comes to clocking and has to be fine tuned in order to get it stable-ish :o

This is what i would get:

YOUR BASKET
1 x AMD Piledriver FX-6 Six Core 6300 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AMD 990FX (Socket AM3+) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £86.99
1 x Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit (TW3X4G1333C9A) £32.99
Total : £221.36 (includes shipping : £9.50).

No game needs more than 4gb really, but if you wished to upgrade later, you could. and that ram is good, and pretty cheap. (but not the best obviously)

Hope this helps :)

Asrock extreme 3 would be way worse for clocking. It may be a flagship board but it was released before these power hungry fx chips and is just simply not built for them. Even phenom 6 cores have been reported to be throttled at stock on that board.
