Quick question. My GTS has given up the ghost and I am well out of touch with whats happening in the world of graphics cards. Please could you give me a quick pointer towards what is currently the best I could get for £200. I would prefer cooler and less power hungry if possible. I'm hoping to order it today.
Thanks in advance

What CPU are you using? A dated dual-core system would bottleneck most modern cards at low-mid range or above.

Yeah it is pretty old - Q6600 @ 3.4 and 4gb ddr2 but as I need a new card now I figure get a decent one then upgrade the rest of the system as and when.

Shouldn't be too bad unless you were playing games like mmos or Starcraft II or open world games...most FPS/action games on single player are more linear and is more demanding on graphic side than CPU side. I had a Q6600 overclocked to 3.6GHz, and it was only really letting me down on mmos that I played (and even with frame rate dips in source games like Left4Dead2, and Crysis 1 because of the game only using 2 cores).

So whether the CPU would be a little or a lot of bottleneck is depending on the games you play. Most modern FPS would generally use 4 cores or more.

That system should be fine, if it does bottleneck it wouldn't be that noticeable in most situations I don't think. Going by other people's setups and experiences that I have encountered on here.

8800gt crysis warhead,3 fps:eek::eek:

those figures for the 7950 are probably on old drivers,be sure to install the latest beta drivers to improve things by a huge margin
