£2000 budget (first gaming desktop)

290 Crossfire and a 27" 1440P Monitor :) You are probably looking at around £2120 ish when ocuk add the build price on.

I know you prefer Nvidia, but the AMD gpu's are cracking value for money.

The Powercolor is out of stock atm (As is the Monitor), but I would imagine more stock is on the way. You could ask Customer Services when they are due in.

Also there is a free set of 'AMD' Ram with each gpu at present. You could probably scrap the G.Skill Ram in my spec and use the AMD stuff instead. Failing that you could sell it on.

You could probably get away with a single R9 290 at 1440P for most games. It depends on whether you want to go 'all out' from the off :)

He already has a 1440p monitor

Whats with the ":D" ?

No idea tbh, just an emotion that I've overused lol

Either way Lee, that spec looks beast - never even knew the AMD cards were coming with that free RAM :o

EDIT: Yeah, it's referring to the 280 you said :)

sorry about the link,
http://gyazo.com/18a3be3afa6602fae87e8847a7ebdabe

can anyone show me how to spec builds where its like the persons basket then all the components etc like above, i have no idea how to do it and was looking how to do it for around 5 minutes then gave up and gyazo' it.

please point out any thing that wrong because first time specing a build.

at the high end of 2.2

now if the 290x xfire would be better for me than 2x780ti then please say, but by better i mean performance wise not price, i dont mind waiting another week for payday to get better performance out of something that im going to be using for years if you get what i mean?

H100i may have compatibility issues with Windows 8.1 atm still, so better to go for an Antec 1250 or a Corsair H105 instead

Spend a few bob more and get this PSU, should hold you out for future crossfire

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-043-SS&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2466

Otherwise looks great! Unless you wanted to spend a little less on the SSD and get an MX100 256GB

can you explain to me what it means on psu when its says gold bronze silver/platinum mate?

i assume its to do with warranity?

Nah, that's the efficiency rating mate. You want 80 Plus minimum (80% + efficiency), the Seasonic has a fairly low one compared to other PSUs but it is considerably cheaper and the internals are really really really rock solid

right, so is the bronze/gold etc just a branding scheme? because if it says 80+ then why put gold silver etc?

also could you link me to the mx100 and what would the difference be from the samsung? slower write speeds / reads?
