I've already made my decision on buying

2 x 6950/70 2gb
Dell U2711 monitor

I've already have these components

Liam Li pc50b case
Western digital caviar black 500gb hdd

So I'm looking to build around these. I need Windows and a 7.1 headset.
I will overclock and will be for gaming mainly
Maximum £2000

Thanks in advance

Hmm could be an option, I'm really tempted in the SA950 as well but I feel as though I'm gonna miss out on the higher res if I do

If you are a pure gamer then do not get a U2711 as the input lag is high so you are better off going for a Hazro model which have much lower input lag(they are around 11-14ms whereas the U2711 is around 30 or higher) and nearly as good image quality yet just lacking slightly less connection options.

You also may aswell pay the extra £10 or so and get a 1TB hd like a Samsung F3 1TB or so.(ah saw you had hd already, could get a 2nd and raid 0 them)

OCZ Agility latest 60gb ssd is worth using as an OS+Apps drive, a Corsair 850HX psu would handle those 6970s in CF and Noctua NH-D14 is a nice cooler.

As for cpu/motherboard/ram well i know a 2500k is the best value performing cpu at the moment however i am not sure what motherboard would be best for CF on those cards and not sure what memory would be most ideal for a good overclock.

^ iirc ram isn't important for sandy bridge ocing because you have to do it from the multiplier anyway

so you'd probs be best with some cheap 4gb (link), although with such a big budget you could future proof yourself a bit and get 8gb (link)

I know very little of monitors.

I do know that the Dell has silly high input lag, and I also know the Hazro are woefully unreliable atm - there's a thread with thousands of posts with complaints and issues!
