Hello,
One of my good friends has asked me if i could kindly build him a gaming spec pc for around 2k including monitor. Really don't want to let him down and after a few days of reading, reading and more reading i've come up with this,

Could anyone help with any improvements and is this all compatible. He already has a small ssd for the os and we will be buying extra fans for the case.
The price isn't quite at the 2k mark so we do have room for scope if possible.

I did look at this monitor but not to sure about it,

Thankyou in advance for any input/advice.

Hi

Slightly over the £2K budget, but if you shop around you can probably find things cheaper. The Sabrent Rocket 1TB SSD for example is usually around £109. Things like the gpu and cpu might also be cheaper elsewhere. As for the gpu the Gigabyte Gaming OC has a much better warranty of 4 years when registered online. There is also a Gigabyte rep who posts on here. Swapped out the psu as well to the better RMx. A 650W is plenty.

The Gigabyte Aorus monitor is also a step up as it is an IPS panel. There is also the Asus TUF Gaming 1440p monitor although out of stock on here. That is also IPS and supports Freesync/G-Sync same as the Gigabyte.

@lee32uk stock CPU cooler? I'd try and push for 3200MHz RAM too for a R5 3600 CPU.

OP - The below is what I'm currently considering myself although I'm waiting on the B550 mobo.

It's aimed at being silent so I've added in a couple of fans to replace the stock ones that come with the case. Overspec'd PSU too so the increased power gives more headroom before the 40% load is reached. RAM is Samsung B-Die and on a great deal at the moment too.

GPU either the Nitro+ I've selected or the Powercolor Radeon RX 5700 XT Red Devil for £10 less.

You can get windowed versions of this case too if that's your thing. Less sound proofing though with one side glass and not covered by 1cm of foam.

Already over his budget. He can add a cheap cooler like the Cryorig H7 if budget allows. Otherwise the stock is ok for the time being. Not many options for air coolers in the Lian-Li case anyway.

No need to get 3200 when you can just overclock it using dram calc. The Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3000 - 3200 which isn't sold on here should overclock to 3600 CL16.

With that price, Look into an i7 9990k and a water block to go with that. I would do is get the top motherboard that is upgradable proof for the future and over time add more ram and other hardware. I stick with 16gb

That is a terrible idea. Why pay more for an Intel system and custom loop when you can get better value with Ryzen ? Also there is no upgrade path after the 9900K.
