My desk has a rough finish to it. Rather than just cover a very small portion of my desk with a small mouse mat, I would rather cover a larger area of my desk with a larger mouse mat. Therefore, this mouse mat suits my needs to cover my desk which has a rough finish to it. Mouse mat mouse mat.

I wouldn't call it overkill. Mine finally arrived and it does a good job covering the working area of my desk.

My desk is 60cm x 240cm, meaning if I bought two the desk would be completely covered and fit perfectly.
