Can it pass the ultimate PSU killer test? Sleeping Dogs Extreme 4K, 4x290X @1225/1625Mhz @+200mv + 5960X @4.9Ghz.

EDIT

Yes it can, the 2000W power supply is the most powerful unit I've ever used.

Interesting, recommended PSU for two GPU. 750w and anything above a waste.

But here we have 1600w failing a 4 GPU rig?

Yeah, 750W should be ok for 2 if you're not heavily overclocking let alone pumping more volts through the GPUs.

I remember trying to use a 800w PSU with 2x 7970 Matrix Platinums.. Was ok at stop. Fell over when i overclocked :p

I have no idea where I am going with my PC but do want to end up at 4k, so far the best 4k bang for buck I have seen is three 290's, but as that required me going full ATX I put it off.

Personally I would like to stick with Micro ATX, and two GPU's, but can't make my mind up on water cooling, with MicroATX it could be two 280 rads, but I had previously looked at the Lian Li D600wb and Phanteks Enthoo Primo with two 360 rads as I had considered X99 with three 290's. I doub't 750w would cover that.

Currently see no benefit in changing my 4770K/Gene VI Z87 set up, so hoping the new AMD 300 series cards are more power efficient and giving higher frame rate minimums with 4k than dual 970/980's.

No PSU I've owned has been able to pass this test.

1600W EVGA Platinum? Fail
1300W Leadex Gold? Fail
1200W SuperFlower Platinum? Fail
2000W Leadex Platinum? TBC

Stand by for updates early next week. :D

You tell us, how much does the that lot pull?

Massively OTT power supply for most of us, but for those few that really do need the power, it should certainly get the job done. (Unless you have 4xMSI r9 290x LE Lightings of course. ;))
