2000W Platinum Power Supply Ordered

Thanks for that!

That's crazy, a PSU supplying that much power?!?!

Any burning yet ;)?

Nope.

The good thing is I'll be running this PSU at around 1000W ish typically when i game with a 5960X@4ghz and 2x295x2's at stock and undervolted. So in theory the PSU should be at very high efficiency at this, maybe close to 100%? :)

Not quite, even though the PSU is most efficient around 50% usage, it still is only about 92-94% efficient according the the 80 plus platinum spec (there is the titatnium spec above it). The closer PSUs get to 100% efficiency the harder it gets.

Objection, m'lud! You want 3x 4K monitors and 4x 8 GB 290x - assuming you can get one of the latter with 3x DP 1.2 ports.

Well, he does have 4x8GB cards, so that's a start.

My 8GB cards don't clock as well and as i don't have any more 4GB 290X cards (aside from a Lightning) so there won't be anymore epic torture tests from me. The PSU survived multiple runs though, it truly is the 'King Of The Hill.

I will put a review up on the main site once i get my rig up and running in a few days.

Can it pass the ultimate PSU killer test? Sleeping Dogs Extreme 4K, 4x290X @1225/1625Mhz @+200mv + 5960X @4.9Ghz.

No PSU I've owned has been able to pass this test.

1600W EVGA Platinum? Fail
1300W Leadex Gold? Fail
1200W SuperFlower Platinum? Fail
2000W Leadex Platinum? TBC

Stand by for updates early next week. :D
Hi Matt,

can you let us know more information about which hardware you did exactly run with the power supply?

Sorry for not being clear Dom. The PSU's in the OP all worked flawlessly for me including the EVGA 1600W Platinum. What i was trying to say was that none of them could survive the intense load Sleeping Dogs 4K requires. This is understandable as i was running 4 highly overclocked gpus which ended up pulling 2250 Watts from the wall, so i was running all the PSU's well over spec.

I will edit the OP now to reflect this. :)
