they have two plugs, so the chance of both failing is low i'd think

Problem with the engine is that it is so hard to get into anything on it. Need a proper tool to get to the plug on the top and have to remove the bumper again for the rear one.

Will try again in the morning. Have not got a clue why she didnt buy a proper car in the first place
