2005/6 Ford Fiesta

My friend has the new mk6 1.25 and its good for low end acceleration.

Not a fast car by anybodys stretch of the imagination, but for a 1.2 litre it is pretty damn good.

I haven't tried a 1.4, but they are supposed to be the same, with a little more kick.

Just checked TopGear mag, appears the 1.4TDCi scored slightly better... (all 3dr)
1.25 Studio -- 11/20
1.25 Style -- 10/20
1.25 Zetec -- 10/20
1.4TDCi Studio -- 11/20
1.4TDCi Style -- 11/20
1.4TDCi Zetec -- 11/20

No idea on the differences in kit between versions, Zetec spec traditionally carries a slightly better range.

Zetec usually has front foglights, body coloured bumpers, and a subtle rear spoiler.

And usually tend to have the nicer sounding engine, not sure the differences in the 2005/6 model.

Feistas suck big hairy ones, for that money get a pug

No, they are not that bad, i looked at getting the missus a 1.4 TDCI last year, we went for a fair old test drive in it, nice car, lots of room, handles well, no rocket ship mind.

To honest I don't care if it doesn't go 1,000,000mph as long as its not stupidly slow it'll be fine for me. I'm just after a brand new stylish, quiet car to get me from A-B.

Yes, Fiestas do suck, but for no reason that doesn't equally apply to the rest of the class as a whole.

In the grand scheme of things, Fiestas suck, but as far as sucky small poor value rip-offs go, the Fiesta is one of the better ones.

Have a look at the new Suzuki Swift. I saw one in a dealership last week and it seemed excellent for the money. According to parkers the 1.3GL 3 door model has 91bhp and 0-60 time of 10.6 seconds whereas the 1.25 Fiesta Zetec has 73bhp and 0-60 time of 13.6 seconds. IMO the 3 door Swift looks much better aswell and is much cheaper.

Ive got the 1.4 and its rather nice.

Ive also driven the 1.25 a few times for courtesy cars. I would deffo go for the 1.4 as it offers a slight bit more power. Either way my 1.4 accelerates pretty nicely and I like the noise the engine makes when you take it to high revs.

I would really reccommend it, its a super car. Its much better than the 106 I used to have. I would take a Ford over a Peugeot anyday, they are simply in a different class. Oh and french things fall apart. Im really happy with mine.

Ive never understood the market for fiestas, with the exception of the sadly undersized 1.25 zetec they are slow and unrefined, they are badly equipped for the money and with each successive generation they get uglier and uglier, they look like an old womans ass now. For the money on a new fiesta you can get so much more in an older car.

So the 1.4 5dr style model, new is £9999.99

Here is a small selection of cars that you can purchase for that price

Toyota Celicia GT4 300bhp

Alfa Romeo GTV 2.5

BMW 318i ES

Jaguar X type

or of course

Fiesta 1.4

Yeah i can see why you want it...ohhh wait no i cant, and for the record all the pictured cars are 2002 or newer under 50k on the clock and ALL are worth less than a new fiesta 1.4....

and how are you gonna get insured on them at 19? its gonna cost a fortune!

and i disagree that the fiesta looks bad. i think this version of the fiesta is the best looking its ever been. the new styling i admit looks a bit off, but the standard mk6 is a very nice looking car.

go for the 3dr, its nicer than the 5.

Youd be surprised, insurance on those cars would be in the region on 1.2k but if youve got 10k to spend on a ****** fiesta then it shouldnt be an issue
Im sorry but 1.2k you are having a laugh. Im 22, ive got no points and 1 years no claims, for me to have a 300bhp celica the insurance is >2k!
