Gearbox sounding more likely - loose electrical connection - electrically operated gearbox.

Portugal are going well. I am sure that the race organisers are annoed about what seems to be the very poor turnout in Portugal. There was a far bigger crowd in Germany - we and the wife were the two nuts with the Ulster flag getting odd looks from almost everyone - they were probably thinging what country are they from?
