2006 San Marino Grand Prix - Race 4/18

Montoya pits on lap 44

Tactical mistake from Renault there maybe.. Would it have been better to have him stay out a couple of extra laps?

Button pits on lap 45
Sato pits on lap 45

Surprisingly - Webber is on the harder Bridgestones and M.Schumacher is on the softer...

Shows the sensible choice here.

The Ferrari still does not work well on hard tyres..

Alonso pits on lap 42

I thought some of the changes to the Ferrari where meant to allow it to work better with softer tyres.

It's going to be some tense final laps but I feel Alonso won't be able to get past schuey - too many slow chicanes

Unless Kimi is on a one stopper (and for some reason pitted very early...), this has been a poor weekend for the McLarens.

Certainly possible - just fill him up and send him off...

Montoya looks like he's got himself into third somehow, once Kimi pits.

More likely though. :D

Not as bad as Hondas. Their qualifying pace was shown to be due to very light fuel loads, and two problems during the pitstops.
