2007WFP

Nothing is gaurenteed but I think the 2007WFP are being shipped with the S-IPS panel. When they ran out ages ago they used S-PVA but that was a long time ago. Also you might want to remove your competitor in your post.

Yeah, the newer Rev's fix any issues than the earlier ones - I have 2 Rev A02's but havent had any problems with them in anyway shape or form.

they seem to be totally out of stock at the moment - 3 week delay - hope the ips panels remain!

I got mine recently. It's an A04, but how can I tell if it's S-IPS or not?

Btw it has low backlight bleeding and colours are much better than my other Dell 17" Ultrasharp :)

Check the service menu, if it says RT803 it's S-IPS panel, to get into the service menu, switch the monitor off then press the menu button and the plus button together and switch it back on while still holding the buttons, release the buttons and press the minus button, that will then show you the service menu.

i have an A03, anyone suggest the best means of cleaning it? i have a few smudges and that annoy at times

I just tend to not talk to my monitor to avoid spit spots and also when someone hangs over my shoulder when I'm hacking away they would often point at parts of the screen "oh click there! *POKE*" - those people do not usually live another day ;)

For general cleaning though nothing beats mr antistatic!

Wouldn't use toiler paper myself, some of the fibres in some of them are a little rough and could scratch the screen. I would rather use a soft lint free cloth.

Where did you buy your Dell monitor from?

Got it today - took two days for delivery
It's RT803 - guess it's S-IPS. Now if somebody be so kind to tell me how to check the revision :D

Cool im looking to order one too. does it contain any dead pixels and was it brand new (i.e not refurbished)?

Also the revisions should be on the sticker which is located on the back of the screen.

cheers,
Wahid.
