2009 Engine of the Year

Well I find this odd.

Reviewing the VAG 1.4 I have heard of, and know at least one person whose Turbo has gone pop, twice. The car only has 12k miles on the clock.

To me, that, is, FAIL

I'm failry sure I can say this has won engine of the year based on the following:

Low CC
Low Tax
High BHP
High Torque
Low Emissions

A dead turbo on a massed produced engine makes it rubbish?

aww, would've thought Ford/Jag/LR 5.0V8 SC or NA would have made it

edit - came 3rd in >4L category and tied with BMW V10 in performance category

Yeah nice to see that peach up there amongst them. Were Ford involved in that then? I guess its been in development since before Tata buy.

My engine got the sub 1.0 best engine every year it was in production :p

The A5 is marketed more as a GT, which it is pretty good at.

It's built to compete with the 3 coupe and I don't think it's as good at the driving bit. How Audi market it doesn't change what it's competing with. The M3 is a GT as will the RS5 be if they make one, the normal cooking A5 is a sports coupe in my book.

BWM car's have the most mundane interiors of any car. Mercedes isn't far behind. Audi on the other hand look a lot better.

But i've never been a fan of BMW or Mercedes.
