201-2006 - Project log, CM case mod comp 2006

Fan holes are marked and drilled, The cutting commences, followed by a clean up of the edges

The finished back plate before it’s last coat of colour and lacquer. Painted and lacquered and riveted back onto the motherboard tray

Time to assemble – on getting ready to assemble the case I realised that due to turning it upside down I would need to make some adjustments to the drive bay mounting points in order for the drives to sit correctly.

Build me up!

The fans are installed. The front mesh filter and USB are installed

The front panel and drive bays are installed

The PSU is installed

The motherboard tray is installed with PCI slots and thumbscrews in place.

The optical drive bezel is fixed to the drive and the drive is installed

Time to add the cold cathode lighting to the side panel so that it shines through the acrylic logo

Side and top panels on, thumbscrews in place

As the competition is for “case modding” I will not go into detail about the components (mainly because they are low end!)

Time to power on!

just read through the post and i would have never thought to turn a case upside down! Amazing Mods keep it up!

Top work Harib0. Fingers crossed you win the comp for all the effort you've put in. :)

Certainly is deserving of it, one of the nicest mods I have seen as it actually looks like you could buy one from ATCs unless you were reading the thread.

How a mod should be in my opinion, so good it looks like a stock case. :D

Voting is ready, however you will not be eligable to vote unless you are a member of the cooler master forums and have at least 20 quality posts

Also love that fact you but your painting nightmare in the offical log, when many wouldn't. Your an insparation :)

Well were not perfect so you know way not stick it in lol

Awsome modding. It does look abit strange upside down but it's all good!

Love the colour, love the side panel, love the case!

Looks like a lot of hard work was put into it, well done! 2 thumbs up from me! ;)

The ATCS lit up in the window is exactly the type of effect I've wanted for years!
Just never known where to get the Acrylic machined.

Top job, very nicely executed - Neat and precise with the making of new back-panel etc. :)
Hope you do well with it.

looks top class

if i where to make on suggestions i would say change the front fan guard, kills the look a little bit imo - but never the less still looks amazing - VERY VERY well done

*buys Harib0 a pint*

yeah its a great clean finish, I like it, hope you're pleased with the end result (its a lot of work doing such a mod, and can become overwhelming at times, I know)

sidepanel is something I think a lot of people have thought of in the past but never done, so well done for doing it, and doing it so well, looks bang on! :)
