I think it'd be quite cool to do something like this seeing as Christmas is nearly over.

Soon we'll be gazing expectantly towards 2011. Hoping that it'll bring us good luck, prosperity and of course, more epic lulz.

But of course it never hurts to look back at the at the year that has gone past, and that is my intention of this thread. A good bit of light hearted banter and discussion about the 360 odd years that have just flown by us

Possible points of discussion are:
Car of the Year
Shed of the Year
Thread of the Year
FAIL of the Year
Revelation/Shock of the Year

But of course feel free to add your own.

So Motors. What has YOUR 2010 been like? :)

Car of the Year
MikeHiow's ek9

Shed of the Year
MrLOL's Volvo

Thread of the Year
"The Time Has Come" - a 'spec me' thread by MikeHiow

FAIL of the Year
MikeHiow - what more needs to be said?

Revelation/Shock of the Year

oil-gate?

lol

All the threads have been deleted now but basically Princey got pulled up for allegedly buying oil for his broken Astra on numerous occasions on a company fuel card, but claimed he was innocent despite numerous threads on numerous forums about a source of 'free oil' and a load of hasty edits to posts going back months where he began changing oil weights he'd mentioned etc etc. The eventual outcome was that he kept his job :p

That Rover is by far and away the Shed of the Year, no question.

Snowdog's Mitsu isn't that bad as it's not that much of a shed, and cars are much more expensive in the Netherlands.

Haha, what a lad.

Agree on MikeHiow for most of those categories, despite the excellent late charge from MrLOL. ;)

Was twoblacklines this year or last? He must get a mention surely.

I missed that :(

Was he right on the verge of getting the sack?

I thought that his Volvo was a decent replacement for his clutch-eating vectra? Or have I missed something else?

Actually yeah it's a bit unfair on the Volvo. I was talking about the recent episode where he was found to have copied an entire Wikipedia article and posting it as his own, changing the odd word here and there so it couldn't be found on Google.

When caught red handed instead of owning up he went on a mentalist swearing mission slagging people off, getting himself suspended in the process. You may have noticed he's been posting in pretty much every thread the past few days with 'helpful' advice, in the vain hope that everyone will forget. :D

I don't think 2010 has been that crazy a year for Motors, compared to threads like the carcraft one and the random Avensis. I gave up reading most of the Mike Hiow's threads as they were boring as hell.

Rover fail ticks most of the boxes though. Hopefully my memory is ****ed and people will post threads that I have forgotten about or missed.

Link to said thread please :D

Completely missed Oilgate.

I think 2010 saddest moment has to be losing DannyW and twoblacklines :(
