2011 macbook pro - worth it?

New to macbooks, want one for the ease of use and portability of one but don't want to splash 2k on a new one.

This decent for £550?

If this is pre- retina, I really would not.... They look positively archaic compared to anything else. Form factor, screen, pretty sure the older models are being gimped by recent OSX updates, etc.
(Source: still rocking a top spec 2009 MBP at home and have a late '15 MBP for work)
