"End of the world until 2220 '
Many people believe that on December 21, 2012 the world will end. Then the ancient Mayan calendar off. But there is an accounting mistake made.
'END OF THE WORLD PASS IN 2220'

According to archaeologists, astronomers and mathematicians is the calendar two centuries. We can breathe a sigh of relief, because the earth pass away until 2220. Or maybe not.

The Maya lived 3000 years ago in South America. Their calendar ends on the date '0 .0.0.0.0 '. It has long been assumed that there 'something' to happen. According to many prophets of doom is even the "end of time '.

Long been assumed that the time recorded '0 .0.0.0.0 'corresponds to December 21, 2012. But the Mayan calculations are so difficult that several outcomes are possible. So: What happens on December 21, 2012?

' End of the world just in 2220' Many people believe that on 21 December 2012 the world fares. Then the old Mayakalender expire. But a rack slip-up has been made. ' END OF THE WORLD JUST IN 2220' Photograph According to archaeologists, astronomers and mathematicians the calendar passes through centuries still two. We can relieved breathe, because the ground fares just in 2220. Or perhaps also not. Maya' s lived 3000 years suffered in Zuid-Amerika. Their calendar finishes on the date ' 0.0.0.0 .0'. There is long adopted already complete that there then ' iets' go happen. According to much misfortune prophetess it is even it ' end of the tijden'. For a long time it was adopted that time name ' 0.0.0.0 .0' corresponds to 21 December 2012. But Maya-berekeningen are this way cumbersome, which are several outcomes possible there. Therefore: What happens there on 21 December 2012?

So basically, they messed up, the Mayan calendar ends in 2220 not 2012 :p. Someone made a mathematical error :p.

I've always wondered how people believe that somehow the Mayans knew how and when the world was going to end but with all of our technology and understanding today we have not come to the same conclusion.

It's the same with a lot of ancient civilizations, lots of end of the world doom stuff.

who says we haven't confirmed that it will end in 2012?

what you have to remember is, nobody in any government would dare publicise it. the world would turn on itself in that 3 years, it would be madness ;]

The date some fools are worried about wouldn't be 0.0.0.0.0 in the Mayan calendar transposed to the numerals we use.

It would be 12.19.19.17.19, with the next day being 13.0.0.0.0

So the article is wrong about that.

One of the issues is that it all depends on when the Mayans had the previous 13.0.0.0.0, because obviously that determines when the next 13.0.0.0.0 will be. The "world will end on 21/12/2012" people have picked on the 11th of August 3114 BC on the Gregorian calendar, but hardly any of them know why, or even that they've done so (because they don't even have the faintest idea what they're talking about). Another possible date is the 15th of October 3374 BC on the Gregorian calendar, i.e. 13.0.0.0.0 already happened 257 years ago. Now we have a new date, for 211 years from now. Because no-one really knows when the Mayans started the count.

It's all rather eclipsed by the two bigger issues:

i) None of the little information we have on the Mayans indicates that they considered the next date of 13.0.0.0.0 to be the end of the world. Mayan insciptions contain dates that go past 4400 in the Gregorian system, so they obviously didn't expect the end of the world before then.

ii) It's just a calendar with a long cycle. When one cycle ends, the next begins. Just like, for example, the 12-year Chinese calendar.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

im seriously laughing out loud every time i read something like this.. have i ever cared ? no... will i ever care? hmm no ? :D what does it matter what some muyans said about it.. they might just reborn in 2012 doesn't mean there will be the end of the world.. ;)

And as i've said many times the world won't end but we will see major shifts and social disruptions.
