Erm? Ok, just thought we were doing same as last year in the end.

I'm doing both, fantasyraces is select and forget, it's not like football with loads of options and varying perfomamce. Almost certainly have a top driver and car most of the season.

I liked that one where you actually had setups and simulated races in line with the race weekends! Completely forgotten the name of it though.

Now that's really interesting, haven't seen anything along those lines.

It was awesome. I'll have a bit of a google now for it. But you basically had race weekends with test days, and 2 users in a team, and youd get a limited amount of test runs to whittle down the optimum setup which was basically a number between 0 and 100 for each element (front wing, rear wing, ride height etc).

So you'd end up sharing pictures of your testing with your team mate as you both contributed to the setup. Then the race ran and calculated who had won based on your setups, along with accidents, failures etc based on your team development where you spent cash on equipment and facilities. It was quite involved.

This looks like the sausage. http://www.gpro.net/gb/gpro.asp

i used to play that but it takes so much time to do properly.

and if you use your budget wrong for the first 5 seasons you are screwed.

Thanks I seem to remember playing that, signed up.

Qualified for first race, now have to wait best part of 4 days. Shame it's so long between races.

I have been doing this fantasy race with colleagues from work for the past 3 years - it is interactive for each weekend and I can't recommend it enough

http://www.f1racemanager.com/

Can set up an ocuk league and is free to join :)

Basically each weekend you can adjust what 2 drivers, engine, chassis and fuel you want (can afford) up until qually starts when the database is locked for the weekend - what you choose is used for qually and the race - at the beginning of the season you can't afford the best yet but as you earn money in the season you can strategically make changes - the higher you are (ie if you are first in the league) then you have a 10% broker fee so you are charged 10% extra to make changes to your team - this ensures the people at the top need to make good decisions and helps people at the bottom to afford more changes to make a comeback (although if you are on top of all your changes, bets and bonus question compared to someone who isnt then they will still have a hard time catching up)

Additionally each weekend has a set of bonus questions (called bets) which could earn you extra money to upgrade your team come the next race - questions like pole, 1st 2nd and 3rd in the race, first to exit the race etc.

On top of this - every thursday before a race weekend a bonus question is put up for even more extra money - it usually requires some googlefu to find the answer and they become progressively harder as the season goes on

I can't stand the fantasy games where you set and forget - I look forward to watching the practice sessions and then making my changes for each race weekend - seriously have a look at this one :)
