It was Model Year 2013, so I believe late 2012 onwards.
DAB was standard from early 2012 onwards, so some CIC cars have standard fit DAB (and many have optional fit DAB).
NBT is essentially next-gen CIC, the functionality is similar, the menu layouts are similar but it's a bit more modern looking and responds a bit faster. If they are similarly priced pick an NBT car over a CIC car but don't go paying loads more money just to get it, it isn't the leap forward that CIC was from CCC for example.
This IMHO makes a 13 plate F11 the most desirable - you get spec enhancements like standard fit DAB, latest NBT iDrive, etc, but you don't suffer from what appears to be the most half hearted LCI in BMW history (They didn't even bother to remove the side repeater from the wing properly, they just pointlessly blanked it out with chrome!)
It doesn't have the iDrive touch, but it did seem slicker than my E91 LCI Nav (CIC) so i'm confused as to what version it is really.
It says Media: MN-001.022.002
Concerns: It was 3,300 miles overdue for an oil service. It had weird green mould looking stuff on the outside window seals, but that might just be because it hadn't been valeted yet. offside rear tyre was nearly bald.
As it's a BMW main dealer they would fully service it and change any tires that needed changing, plus give me the 12 month warranty and roadside assistance.
They wanted £23480 + £180 Road Tax for it, and offered me £11,500 for my car straight off, which was better than I expected. It's a 58 plate 330D Touring with 118k on the clock. Parkers guide suggested 10k trade in!
Got them to drop it by £690 all in, by dropping their price to £23,090 and increasing their trade in offer to £11,800 for my car - So basically it would cost me £11,500.
Not sure whether to go for it (as it seems a good deal to me) or wait for something 'perfect'
Any thoughts on the price? It's about £5,000 cheaper than most BMW models of the same model/engine/spec.
Fox will likely know for sure, but I don't think the touch was strictly an NBT thing? I thought it was part of the LCI update rather than the NBT Nav system (there are certainly 2013 vehicles out there with pro nav and non-touch, but they could have been built before the changeover and registered many months later).
Only you can tell if it's right for you though. And if you are in enough of a hurry to change, that you can miss a few features. I much prefer the steering wheel on the LCI, and the MFD makes all the difference, to me anyway. The touch function I do barely use, but I have used it.
I've not even seen any used 530D's (in my price range) advertised with Multi Function Display - But it does look cool on Youtube.
I just double checked what I bought my car for - £12,650
Which means in 42 months of ownership (and 50,000 miles), it's only cost me £20 a month! Almost made money on it!
Anyway, not too fussed about touch input, since it doesn't work so well for RHD cars when the majority of the population are right handed. I do want to make sure it's the NBT version though.
They can give you a 2 year warranty - insist on this if you want to keep the car, frankly even if they point blank refuse offer to buy it at the rate they pay for it - its slightly better than the insured product you can renew and it's also much cheaper than you'd pay to renew it.
TBH I'm never really bothered about junk chucked in to 'seal the deal', I'd rather have cash discount and warranty. Fuel? Who cares really, it's just discount at the end of the day, they have to buy it as much as you do.
Work out what you want to pay for the car and see what you can do. They often have these cars for a long time - gambling might pay off if they reject your offer.
When I called about my 530d the dealer implied that it was keenly priced and there wasn't much they could do bar chuck in the extra years warranty.
A few weeks later I got the discount I wanted and we had a deal
If they sense you'll buy it anyway they would be mad to offer discounts.
How much is the car? How much are other cars? Remember that typically things like which version of iDrive it has can be lost on the dealers, I bought the only 335i in the country with CIC at the time for less than many other examples with the rubbish CCC fitted - the dealer never at any point mentioned it was fitted and never once tried to sell it's benefits. I doubt they even realised.
To be honest, the dealer wasn't that professional, the car had 4 miles worth of fuel in it and hadn't even been valeted, even though they opened at 8 and I didn't get there til 11.
Hello Stephen James Enfield...luckily not my local dealer.
I think the car literally just came in/was traded in to them.
They made me wait a bit, and then tried to sell me the usual crap such as gap insurance, tyre cover, 'BMW seal and protect' etc - Obviously that's their job and they get commission, so fair enough.
They wanted me to do a deal on the spot after I got them down a bit on price, but I went away and said I would think about it.
It's actually cheaper than I was expecting to spend. I had 25k in mind, so this is 2k cheaper - That's mainly because they've given me a good trade in offer and for a dealer used car, is high mileage
Should I expect 4 new tyres for instance? Only the rear was bald. The others seemed alright. He said he would replace the ones that needed doing...Having 4 new tyres is worth £1000ish.
It's madness isn't it. I went to look an F10 530i about 6 months ago and before I'd even seen the car the guy was on about Seal and Protect. Really? Why not try and sell me the car first and then work on the addons..
