** 2013 Championship Play-Offs Thread ** spoilers **

I wondered when that would be asked

I've seen him all season and my comments were said prior to him being bought.

So why is he being touted as the best player to come out of the Championship in years?

And keep your rolleyes Andy, it's very childish :/

Don't ask childish questions then.

Touted by whom? He's English and young with a whopping 9 goals and 8 assists to his name in the Championship. Imagine if he was foreign, you'd of never heard anything from the media.

Zaha is Bale in the making then. Does little for 80 minutes but what he does in those ten...

He was fantastic all game.

Zaha is just a player that statistics are against him, doesn't directly score/assist too many but is involved in a hell of a lot. Big future for him, be interesting to see how Utd use him now.

Zaha seems like a nice lad as well when being interviewed. I take the criticism from the people who watch the Championship a lot, but from what I've seen it seems relatively unfounded.

He looks to me to be a player with all the ability, now he just needs to refine it.

Oh dear.

We all know full well you have a dislike for United so I thought it was a perfectly reasonable question. I had the same conversation with Pighardia, I didn't see him whacking out the rolleyes

By whom? The England manager for one, I thought you were an expert on the Championship?

I don't agree, he was a threat in the first 20 mins but then disappeared until the end. He had the ball around the half line mark and did very little with it until the end.

Exactly, I'm dismissing his current ability. He's like Walcott when he was in the Champ with Southampton, all running and not much end product. What his future holds who knows? He has strength and pace which is key but an ego problem with the ball greedyness. A bit like Moses when he was at Palace.

England manager bigging up the kids, who'd of thought it. I'm pretty sure Hodgson bigs up Welbeck and co too. Means very little.

He definitely has ability, no doubt about that, but he is taking a step up when he hasn't mastered this level yet. It is also true what many say that his form drastically nosedived after signing for Utd...but then, the whole team's did to be fair. At the start of the season I actually said some pretty nice things about him, but after seeing him throughout the season, especially the second half, I don't think the step up will do him any favours. At the end of the day though, I want him to do well, I am an England supporter after all, and it looks like he will play for them.

Gonna miss the Palace games next year...though I suppose it will be safer.

PS. Forgot I actually saw him 5 times live, as he played for England U21s as well, and that was actually his best game!

Are you talking about today? Because I thought he was a threat throughout and like I said first half the only player who looked like he was doing anything

Are you really saying he's not been talked about as the Championships best player for a while?

Best player or best English player? There a lot more players that warrant best player over him, a few were out there today unfortunately none of them turned up. But for someone coming and watching the game today it's clear who'd they vote as 'the best player in the champ'.

Throughout? Come on. I agree with you when you said he was the only player who looked a threat at the beginning but then he disappeared. Watch the game again. He came alive again in ET and fortunately was being marked by an absolute numpty. Premier League fullbacks I think will deal with him relatively easily for the time being.

He was voted best young player at Palace 2 years running and then won the Championships best young player.

You're right, I have only watched him today, not a couple of times this season, I saw him against Wolves, I saw the Brighton game, I saw todays, I saw him give Leeds the finger.

I've not seen him a massive amount no, but I have seen him enough to see he's good enough that he can come into a massive squad and learn how to use that talent.

He was very good today - throughout the entire game. Real football isn't measured in the same way Football Manager is... it's not just about how many goals and assists you get. He spent the entire game knackering out their defense and drawing two or three players to him the whole time.

You can't measure that in bog standard statistics, you measure it by the teams results when he's playing, and it's obvious that a decent Palace team have played very well this season. However he did create a lot, at least two clear cut goal scoring opportunities for his forwards, and was constantly a threat. He'll mature, he'll get less selfish and his final ball will improve. Seeing as Andy Carroll went for £35m and Downing for £20m, I'd say £15m for a 20 year old Zaha looks very decent business.

It was the couple of really top notch through balls he did as well today, the thought of RvP or Hendandez running on to them is a nice thought, for him to be trying them is encouraging and that he's not just a speed demon with a few tricks with crap stats.

But disappointed as I think Watford would be a better team in the PL and would have more chance of staying.

Oh well, Watford only have themselves to blame. They were garbage.

It'll be interesting to see if Watford hold onto all their foreign loan players now that they've failed to get promotion.

However Palace get on in the Premiership next season they've earner the right to be there. :)

Seems Zaha got man of the match and Zola had some nice things to say about him.

"They had a player like Zaha who was on a different level and made the difference."

"When you play a game like this, it will be very tight. The difference can be made by individual qualities and today was the case."

A great day out, sitting behind the goal I got nice and burnt!

But as already said, we didn't show up and were completely outplayed. A few good chances but that final ball just kept letting us down, and we didn't deserve to win. Ah well, guess ticket prices won't go up next season!
