I agree, unless its a really big game, I'm going to not even bother going downstairs to watch the games they show live
The first half was a shambles, misplaced passes, lack of fight, Donaldson in particular, he ran full speed about twice in the entire game, at one point someone right next to him passed it wide and he made literally no effort at all to run the 10 yards to get into the box to maybe get on the end of the cross.
BWP shot a couple times when the pass was the massively better option, infact most of the team was guilty of that repeatedly, Forrester and Saunders in particular took stupid efforst with much better passes on.
They kept trying to win the game individually, because they knew everyone else was playing poorly or because they wanted the glory themselves(Trotta penalty syndrome?) I really don't know, either is a bad reason though.
Too often when there was a 5-10 yard pass on they made the 20 yard tight angle easily intercepted(if not just completey inaccurate which it normally was) pass. KISS, particularly in big games on big occassions, keep it simple and Brentford didn't. Not sure what was with Moore, spent the entire game throwing it to fullbacks whne Yeovil's pressing in our half was obscenely good throughout the game, never did the fullbacks have time on the ball. I'm not a far of the long ball but give Donaldson some stuff to run after, its the only time he looked remotely interested.
BWP's miss almost on the line made me angry, but I saw the family resemblance more in that moment than ever before. Trotta really didn't get enough of the ball to be good or bad. Forshaw had a few excellent runs into the box but his finishing was very poor unfortunately.
Outside of the first what 15 mins, they basically dominated possession, but they very rarely looked threatening or dangerous, it all looked, meh. Harley's header was decent, his next one was the right jump, power, just direction. Most of the corners and freekicks were very very poor, particularly the one we passed directly to Yeovil in space to run up the field. Outside of the two Harley corners there was very little threat or quality in the movement at set pieces.
Huge letdown, huge disappointment, but at least we didn't have a huge hard beat at the end. I felt like it was over after the second goal, another 94th minute stupid goal loss would have been so much worse.
Not sure if I feel like saying well done to Yeovil because of the few chances they created, but their first goal was a peach of a shot.
