Same here .. the conservatory fries all plants inside including my chilli seedlings I had.. however the kitchen window has the basil going nuts.

Next year then :D

I've just snuck an order in at world of chillies for some plants. They're end of line as they're getting too big so nearly half price. Some serious stuff on it's way.

I just need to make sure when I'm away in July/Aug for 3 weeks I can get a neighbour to look after them!

My Apaches have come back well after their first over winter, first fruit coming through - considering I've been on holiday for two weeks, they almost drowned in their pots.

No special treatment, they are just outside, I have given them one or two doses of tomato feed over the last few months though.

Also, luckily a fleet of spiderlings has moved in, so are busy munching on any greenfly they attract, bio warfare bonus!

So slugs are getting at mine. The swines. I only have 3 plants I got from the garden centre, which aren't exactly exotic, until my order comes in, but the slugs are attacking. Best thing for them?

Just normal pellets? or sutin?

This is what I have coming, in plant form too:

:D

Thanks, horrible website though.

Don't have what I want :( so annoyed I've left it so late, need to find plants rather than seeds.

Piri Piri aka African Birdseye
And looking for jalapeño and any type of cherry.

Boy looking at this thread makes we want to jump on the boat but i'm still working through my freezer draw of scotch bonnets from last year.

Quick question how high should I let my Aji Limons and scotch bonnets get before pinching out the tops to encourage growth?
Also whats an optimum height for both of them

Just potted up to 5l pots on about 10 plants. The rest are still in smaller ones and don't look like they need it yet. With these plants is the depth of the pot more important than the width? It's too late now but the pots I got are wider rather than all so it won't take long at all for the roots to poke out the bottom again. Just don't want to have to buy yet another load of pots, cost me £30 for last lot.

I never bother, I only trim to maintain a bush shape. As they tend to grow limbs massively lopsided.

My curry is now flowering nicely

And he other 3 are rejuvenating nicely after a winters hibernation. Long side a load of tomatoes

Thought I'd test one of the Hotscotch chillies as some of them have been fully grown for a few weeks now. I suspect it's some sort of Habanero and the heat certainly backs up that theory. I had a small piece of flesh only (no seeds, no membrane) about half the size of my pinkie nail 20 minutes ago and my tongue is still burning. Flavour was a bit grassy and unripe - still needs to mature yet.

Hi all

Just after some advice. Some of my chilli plants have started getting buds but they're still really short, about 5 - 6 inches in height and haven't bushed out at all. Is it a good idea to pinch out the buds so that the plants can focus on growing a bit more first?
