While I don't think Mourinho will do much with Utd, I also think he's the kind of manager who likely doesn't give two ***** about a charity shield so I wouldn't read a huge amount into it directly.

We cant even then because of Smalling's sending off in the cup final, but totally take your point

(might be using it as a "for sale" opportunity of course.....)

He's said all along that he will treat this as a warm up game to the PL because of the lack of game time the players have had in the last few weeks.
Hopefully, Fellaini and Valencia will prove how useless they are and be off within a couple of weeks of this game.
