2016

It's interesting how people react to deaths of entertainers. I can understand the feeling of loss from a beloved artist of whatever field, but can't quite get on board with some of the others. Like some bloke that wrote popular sitcoms in the '70s, but had been retired for many years. We had a thread on it, people seemed sad. Do people really feel grief at that?

Politics aside, 2016 has been an ok year for me. I went to Germany to see 2 of my old WoW guildie friends. We ditched WoW years ago but we kept in touch and had a great time. Was before the Brexit as well, so had an ok rate on the €uro.

I have a weird thing where if 21st of September falls on a Thursday, then it'll be a great year. The last ones were 1989, 1995, 2000 and 2006. The next one is 2017, so I have high hopes for that year :-)

Is the relatively recent murder, in broad daylight in a busy street at the height of pre Brexit abhorrent rhetoric and bitterness, of serving Member of Parliament already such old irrelevant news that it's already forgotten :confused:

Who is the Jimmy Hill look-a-like in the top left? I forgot Jimmy died last year.

Sad fact of life is that as someone born in the 70s, the number of celebrities relevant to my childhood and lifetime are going to increasingly meet their maker, as each year goes by.
 
Been a cranky **** of a year which needs to hurry up and **** off into the annals of history, can't see 2017 getting any better mind.
