2018 OcUK Motors Events - Have your say !

Hence my VR at OcUK suggestion - maybe we could do a Saturday at OcUK - try and arrange a burger van/food, VR setup inside for racing, and offer a discount on purchases made from OcUK that day? Applicable only to Motors members of course...

This is of course possible and I can already give the OK for it, so if you want to do it, just say and I will make sure relevant staff and equipment are available on the day to make it happen. We could also raffle of some prizes, like say fastest lap time wins a noble epic chair, slowest lap time has to wash another members car wheels and it gets filmed and the mick taken forever, or something funny / cool along those lines.

No need for burger van really, I'd just get the company to buy pizza for you all. :)

If your seriously up for it, then maybe give it some thought, we see how much interest we can drum up from motors and then we could also social it and use our website to get some more punters along. :)

Yeah that would be a great first motors meet of the year I think. Glad you like the idea and would definitely appreciate OcUK's support.

What does everyone else think?

I will have a word with the TDO who organised other private track days and find out what is involved. I am talking about a track day only open to members of OCUK Motors, not a public day where a few of us head along. That way you get a better vibe if you know everyone on track and in the pit lane is from the forum. The challenge is always numbers as the lower the numbers the more expensive it is. Now I don't mind paying 300 quid for a half empty track but I suspect most members might bulk at that so would need to get numbers. Done properly with a TDO (Track Day Organiser) it can be really good.

Donington is pretty much £300 on a normal day especially if you add a paddock!

Blyton park is nice and cheap but a little basic. Cadwell park is very close to that but is very unforgiving although a fantastic track. Would love to do some hill climbs at some point as well.

I really like Blyton, but you're right, it's too narrow for loads of cars at the same time, I've done it in sprint format before, hence why I probably really liked it.

I'm pretty easy.

Pod days I can do at the drop of a hat as long as I'm not working, Curborough is all good as long as I can get the time off.

Proper track day is certainly going to test the reliability

Great idea. I would attend :)

Mini car show @ OcUK. The OcUK forum is where most of us have met. So would be great to sort of all meet at the HQ :)

Yep and all clear from my side:
- February onwards (middle March is advisable for warmer temps, February can still be very cold)
- Fastest lap time wins a noble chair
- Lunch, Pizza shall be ordered, drinks and lots of snacks available courtesy of OcUK
- Passenger rides possible as there is a good and quiet national speed limit road just round the corner from OcUK for those who want to take each other out in cars
- 4 other systems shall be setup where people can just play random games
- For OcUK forum members I shall offer discounts on any hardware you were considering to buy on the day
- Slowest lap time has to wash someone's wheels in the car park, designated by the fastest lap time winner ;)

Lets get as many cars at OcUK as possible, the car park can easily hold around 100 cars, so lets exceed it. ;)

Hope to see you, I hope to see everyone.
If there is any other stuff people would like to see at the event, mention it and if it is possible we shall try to arrange it. :)

Also not just cars, bikers, 4x4's too. :)

I’m up for this, as per my comment to you in the other thread. :)

I'm up for these if they aren't too far...

-OcUK VR Driving experience as a group of us from motors
-Go-karting (there's ice karting in London :D)

Edit: Just read the posts lol

What wheels would be setup with the VR? Thrustmaster T500RS or something along those lines?
