Christmas is coming and that can only mean one thing..

The darts is back! This year we say farewell to Phil Taylor after 25 years of the PDC and an incredible 16 world titles to his name. There are a few strong contenders in the PDC this year!

I think Rob Cross has a genuine shot at the title. He's been the best floor player by a long way over the last 12 months, has turned that into success on stage by getting to numerous semis and finals, but of course he has to get past a certain Michael Van Gerwen first.

I've not seen anyone's odds this short to win the title since Taylor's dominance. MVG is 4/6 to win the whole thing, Gary Anderson is 7/1, Peter Wright (he may not play though) 10/1, Phil Taylor 12/1, Rob Cross 14/1 and the rest may as well not bother.

On the BDO side, I can't see anyone other than Glen Durrant winning. He's a class act and put on a real show in the grand slam against Wright despite losing 16-12. He's rightly the 6/4 favourite.

I love watching the darts but it’s so annoying how much of a hard on the commentators have for Phil Taylor.

Can't stand the man. They had an hour long piece on him on Friday, he said 'people compare me to Tiger Woods, Ronne O'Sullivan, Roger Federer.. I tell them to get stuffed, I've won 10 times more than that lot put together'.

Such an arrogant ******. Yes Phil, you won a lot, but the whole 'PDC wouldn't be anything with me' nonsense really gets on my nerves. I really hope someone absolutely thrashes him.

For someone who have no idea about darts more than I know you have to go downwards from 501 to win a leg (and finish with a double score), what is the difference between PDC and BDO?

They're 2 different organisations but are run very differently. The game format is the same but the PDC has a lot more prize money, more tournaments, more TV coverage, higher skilled players.
