Would love a win, I know most treat this as a waste of time but it's still a trophy and a good start to the season to get it.

Plus klopp already said doesn't see it as just another friendly, I do think salah and Bobby will start as they started v lyon, I don't however think will play the entire match

I like Klopp, I really do, but I don’t get why he’s whinging that Liverpool are having to play Friday night?

He says that Liverpool played the last game of the season (champs league), and the first premier league game, and says it doesn’t sound exactly like it should be. He would rather play the game on Sunday, so he has two more days.

City play early Saturday and the fact Liverpool play Friday means that Liverpool get a day extra prep than city before their next game. It’s a baffling whinge tbh. I don’t know if he expects the premier league to synchronise all Liverpool and city fixtures so they get the same prep, just on the off chance that they will be the only two fighting it out for the title again. Reminds me of Wengers constant whinges about having to play Wednesday in Europe and Saturday in the league.

Klopp has made a point over all the last few days that fixture build up in England is daft when compared to other leagues so has pep as well. They both also mentioned lack of breaks for English league

Anyway back on point team news for us is

#LFC starting XI v #MCFC: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Origi, Salah, Firmino

Subs: Mignolet, Matip, Lovren, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Shaqiri

Milner misses out as a precaution (tight muscle)

Only surprise is Brewster doesn't even make the bench

Strong first team but the bench still looks weak, can't help but think it's a mistake not strengthen in the summer even with Ox available again.

Our front three have barely had a rest over the last year and everyone's predicting we'll have a good season IF they stay fit. What if they don't? Where's the backup?

Sterling up top, oh dear.

How many managers does it take until someone realises he can’t play 9/10. Jesus and Aguero can’t be ready.

Watch him stick a couple in now....

I agree, imo were making a mistake, we're European champions surely makes it even easier to attract players to us.

I think klopp will sub salah etc if we go ahead
