2020/21 Sack Race

Allardyce had clearly been lined up beforehand he came in so quick, and you wouldn't want his first game to be away at Man City; you let the current incumbent be the fall guy for that, and then have the Englishman come in and gee things up before the home derby match against easier opposition.

It's too easy for clubs to sack their managers. I think it would be better if there was a window pre January to allow clubs to change if results were poor, but it would also protect the manager and his backroom staff from being turfed out after a handful of games.
Getting sacked as a manager is the sweetest gig in the world. They pay out your contract and you can either manage another team or sit on your arse knowing you've been paid millions and given a 6 month holiday.

There's usually some clause that they can't take a job within x period of time otherwise they will have to pay some of the compo back, I think Poch had something from Spurs if I remember correctly but yeah you're correct I'd hate to think how much Jose has pocketed over his various sackings, many cynics have said it's why he only last 3 years as he does ok for a couple of years gets an extension and then the boot with a massive payout.

Tuchel sacked by PSG and reports saying that Poch is lined up to replace him. It's good of Ole to hang on long enough so that there's no decent managers to replace him :p

Urgh well that’s ****** on my cornflakes. PSG is such a graveyard for players and now Managers too. Ole at the wheel. :(

Typical. Now our form will go down the drain.
Oh god, you know that this is guaranteed to happen as well :(

To be fair, Ole isn't performing like a manager who should be sacked right now. There are plenty of good managers knocking around in the German league we might be able to poach if it came to it. Bielsa would be a good laugh as well.

I don't like the idea of PSG having a good manager though. I guess they will still struggle with the same issues of playing in a junk league 90% of their games.

bielsa had no answer to Man Utd when they played. I'm not sure he's all that he's cracked up to be.

They could have had a hatful against us and we could have had a hatful more. They play entertaining football and if you can show me a team that has come up from the Championship that has played as good football as Leeds so far this season I will be stunned. Its all relative. The fact that a huge number of the best managers in the world say he has been a massive unfluence should tell you something about his talent as a manager.

Wolves and Sheffield United both came up and played good football, albeit with the results to match, heck even Blackpool when they came up were entertaining to watch.

But if all he is bringing to the UK is the Keegan approach, well it didn't work then, (however much we'd have loved it if they beat them) and it seeems it still won't work now so a good manager would adapt. He says he won't change (apparently). That is not good managing, that is obstinate folly no?

Bielsa is doing well with the team that he has, I have to say it is stubborn though to not even slightly change your tactics . But that’s why some admire or love him.

look at Guardiola now he is no longer using the same tactics every game as he has had to learn the hard way

Neither did Tuchel twice and only won the last time due to going down to ten men. Pep got so scared of losing to Ole for a fourth time out of 5 he fielded an extra DM. Tell me the last time Pep was afraid to attack a team.

Ole the PE teacher ftw. He is growing and growing all the time. He played under the best manager of all time, learnt under him and learnt the United way. He saw the pain of Cardiff which was a test and tasted the success of managing at Molde.

Poch is nothing but a side step anyway for United. Only manager I would want is Klopp himself and that will never happen.

Pretty much every player has progressed under Ole from Jose with the exception of Paul Pogba.

Also no other manager will put the club above all else unless another ex player takes over the helm and I cannot see any other ex player up to that job.

Sheffield were docked 12 points remember. They would be pretty comfortable if not which is basically all they could hope for given last season.
I thought that was last season as some guys I was working with at the time were hoping they'd get enough points to stay up after being docked the points, if it's start of this season then I guess it explains a few things although upon checking it appears it was reduced to 6 on appeal
