2024 Chilli Growing Thread

Nope.

I'm giving up, I've been growing chillies 10 years maybe more, last few years have been rubbish for them.

I'm gonna just grow tomatoes they are far more reliable, get a nice plum variety, mmmmmm.

Yeah I mostly only grow tomatoes in the glasshouse.

But every few years I always get an urge to grow chillis, even though I know it will likely be a big let down for the amount of time and care they take.

2025 will be the first time I try from seeds, two superhot, two habanero types and ring of fire which is a cayeene i think.

Got a box from red dragon seeds.
Don't think they'll be much success in germinating the hot ones, however will give it a go.

Well being in Devon is a good start, that would count as the best 10% growing area for chilli in the UK I would imagine.

I was thinking of trying the peach stripey actually, the pods look fantastic.

Although I don't like fruit and vegetable air miles, tomatoes have. been tasty this year from the local Aldi, not as good as home grown but I feel I don't have the space in a 6' square greenhouse to grow them.
