Hello all,

Recently my 205 (Trio S :o ) has developed an intermittent problem with indicator selection. Every so often it just stops working. The indicator bulbs themselves are fine and they come on fine when you press the hazard lights button.

I've checked the connection to the indicator stalk (after much toing and froing) and all seems to be connected properly. On occasion, using the hazard lights then turning them off again has made the indicators come back to life, but not always.

Sometimes you hear a solitary click come out of the little clicker box in the fuse cabinet in the glove box. Not always though.

This is driving me dotty, for short trips I can get by without the indicators but I'm scared to go anywhere far! Help lest I go to the garage to get bummed. :(

Trust me, you can survive without them :p

You can, just... with a combination of arm signals, brake lights, hazard lights and just plain turning where you want to ;) (few beeps here and there but thats london)

For the benefit of the board, its a known(ish) problem and involves the connectors on the back of the hazard light, which if loose after rattling around for 15 years also in turn disable the entire indicator circuit (without affecting the hazards themselves).

Good old French engineering. :(

Still, saved a no doubt £300 bill from the garage so I'm happy.

Make sure all the relays are firmly connected.

Double-check that all the bulbs are connected properly too.

I had a problem where I couldn't indicate right at all but could to the left. This was because on of the bulbs on the right had a slightly dodgy connection.

If that doesn't work, I think you'll need to change over your indicator stalk as this is also a known problem. Is this the part you're after from a scrap yard?

If you can't be bothered to go to one or can't find one, etc, then go to neat autos' website.
