Going back to my original question. is it worth it. It'll still be a large chunk of money even with the trade in. Maybe better off with a second hand 1080ti?

Personally I wouldn't be buying that particular Asus card.

Blower cards are generally more noisy than dual/triple fan cards.

And it's (IMO) overpriced by around £150.

So no, I don't think it's worth it, by a long shot.

Me, I'm waiting to see what 2020 brings, but I'm happy with the performance of my 1070.

Probably better to sell the 970 yourself and buy a 2070S once they get discounted, like they have been before. I'd say to around £475.

You get can a founders now for £479 which is a good price tbh I've picked one up while there is stock as they have been out of stock for months!
