2070 Super overclocking thread

done

going to try this tool out too and use it with +900 mhz on the RAM. I got 1050 mhz to run on the ram but i could see an artifact whilst benching. might try 950 as a happy medium
The difference between 1050 and 950 is negligible. You won’t see a fps difference i dont think, 950 is a good compromise.

just set it as 1000, that's what I've done on mine, it blitz everything so I haven't pushed it any further lol

950 i was getting artifacts

https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/41640927?

that's it on max it can do.

i can only get +55 on core +60 it crashes. +900 on memory. funnily enough power limit has had zero effect. so i'm going to turn it back down to 95%.

I tried the oc scanner and it only gave me a boost of 45 on the core. so it was a decent overclock but slower than my manual one.

Core clock
2,025 MHz
Memory bus clock
1,975 MHz

What temps is your card hitting?

59C whilst playing csgo. otherwise it hits around 65C under bench

As a test trying getting temps down to below 53c (maybe at 100% fan speed) and see what it automatically boosts to. The card might be able to push itself more with the lower temps as gpu boost 2.0 is very temp dependant.

i don't see the point of doing that tbh. if it will only boost at 100% fan speed i'd rather stick with what i have.

Does csgo even stress a 2070 super? Isn’t it engine locked at 300fps, which is child’s play for the card.

What’s the utilisation like during a run?

You can use max_fps 0 to unlock the fps. I get 300-500 fps.

It doesn't stress the card too much I'll need to try apex legends and see what temps I get.

Is there any detailed guides on undercoating the 2070s? I came from a r9 390 to a Palit Jetstream 2070s and know nothing about the settings etc for NVIDIA as I have been using Amd for so long. I think my last NVIDIA card was a 8800gts!

Can it be done via thunder master?

Assuming you mean underclocking/volting, I dont think there is a need too. Unlike AMD, they run at a good temp and aren't overvolted. I've never needed to undervolt an nvidia gpu.

What is everyone using to test their overclocks? I think I have 3D mark free on steam
Haha :D

Yeah, you don't need to worry about that. Just chuck 1k mhz on the memory and reduce by 50 each time it crashes

ill give it a try, ty

I'm using 3D Mark.

I settled on +45 on the core, +850 on the ram and 95% power limit.

The max that is stable is +55 and 950 so I took a bit off just to be safe. There is no need to run it at max. There will be zero difference in game between the both of them.

My card is already overclocked out the box too.

I tried overvolting and never got any more out the card than I did with my small undervolt. So it seems like it is running at it's full potential and it's the silicone that is the main factor rather than voltage or heat.

I just play games. If its stable, I'll leave it
