22" monitor for Gaming and Coding

Hey beh*,

Just got my new Samsung T220 today and I also have Vista 64, so tried the latest Magic Tune & it doesnt work for me either, but looking at Samsungs troubleshooting info our 8800 series GFX cards are not supported so I guess its down to that and not the software so to speak.

Cheers for the update DM. So it's not just my computer, it's crappy samsung.

Ok, just got the monitor. Guess what. Its a B2. Two questions:

Whats the difference between the B1 and B2?
Should I send it back (tbh I can't be arsed)?

Thanks in advance,
- Saul.

I'd agree with the 24" comment 0.258mm DOT pitch versus .303 on the 22" or go for a Dell 2007WFP S-IPS panel 0.258mm dot pitch same resolution as the 22" 1650

B2 has better viewing angles + around 25~30 Input lag they did mess up the panel of b2 for some reason i should send it back ang get 226 bw even c pannel has like only 3 ms S panel 1.8 ms average but not 30

the samsung 226 panels also have the 25ms lag..
did you read the review site you posted??

read it again before u give crap info out....

TN 2 ms : Samsung SyncMaster 226CW

Average RED bar 38.1 ms

min light blue 21ms

max dark blue 47ms

I have JUST come back from a LAN where i set up the B1 & B2 in clone mode stop watched it no delay except for the slight change in number as the photo took.

I couldnt see any delay in the COD4 or CSS in clone mode when firing rounds and taking photo.

maybe just a lucky B2....... but certainly the B2 is as good if not better than the 226....according to that review.

The ProLite E2201W-B2 is an updated version of the E2201-B1. According to Iiyama, we shouldn’t even have to test it the two are so identical. Moreover, this is what characteristics and the look would suggest. Except that test results differ noticeably, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst.

The B1 version was deprived of a 5th star because of poor viewing angles, a critical point. The simple act of looking at a different part of the screen meant seeing darker areas around the edges. The good news is that the B2 is no longer affected!

Ergonomics remain stable. There are still VGA + DVI inputs and the bezel is black matte; however, there is no vertical adjustability or USB hub.

In games...

Reactivity is still good but it is less well controlled. The overdrive, a technology consisting of increasing the voltage to crystal ends to accelerate them, turns out to be not as well mastered. The panel manufacturer pushes components too far resulting in the appearance of a negative afterglow image or a sort of shadow behind objects in movement.

The Product Face-offs show the minimum and maximum afterglow of this screen.
The graph displays the frequency of colored or transparent afterglow images, the colored being the most bothersome.

The second new defect: while the B1 version displayed images exactly at the same rhythm as a CRT, the B2’s sequences have a delay of two images!

The B2 is supposed to be identical to the B1but in the end this isn’t the case. It does correct the main weakness of low viewing angle; however, at the same time adds unprecedented and very bothersome defects. Gamers will prefer the older version.

How ever i believe if you fiddle around with A settings u get same performance as S panel or close to it.

AS it stated above the b2 versions has delay of TWO images which is what? aether 2 ms or 20 ms im not sure someone has to confirm that.

Ps: picture of Iiyama B1 tested with crt monitor

psychas.... you do realise the CW is the identical model to the BW... IT JUST has the Samsung S panel guaranteed.

With the 226BW you can get a choice of 3 panels, A, C, S basically the S is best.
