Hi guys, I currently have a Samsung 205BW 20" monitor, and am bascially thinking of going for a bigger size, really its between a 22 or 24. To be honest I am use my montior mainly for my 360, to browse the internet and to watch tv via windows media centre, and not pc gaming because i only have a 7900GT.

Would i require a 24" monitor to run the 360 at 1080p? i would prefer a larger monitor, as i guess for tv the bigger the better, but 24" seems big to be browsing the internet with. is 22" adequate for this, and would there be any other benefits from upgrading from my 20" samsung?
Cheers

For 1080p you would need a monitor with a resolution of 1920x1080 or above, so you would need a 24" monitor for this.

Also remember you don't need to run the browser window at that size either. You could have two windows open side by side at the resolution. Or maybe some Messenger windows and Firefox next to each other.

Check this thread on which monitor would be best to go for.

as everyone else will be about to say! the reason that samsung 24" you said is an attractive price is because its tn-panel based meaning generally not got the best viewing angles compared to its more expensive rivals!

No and when it is it will likely be closer to £400 than £300.To me if you are prepared for the vewing angles on a tn film panel it makes little sense to buy a 24" panel you can simply get something like the 223bw for far cheaper.

well i guess my current samsung has a tn panel, and to be honest the viewing angles dont matter too much for me. its for my bedroom, and it will only be me using it, so i can put it where i wish, but it seems i need a 24" for 1080p
