22" or 24"?

Chances of Hazro doing an S-IPS at 22" are slim to none, unless LG.Philips decide that they want to enter a market oversaturated with cheap TN panels (which isn't going to happen).

People who are buying 22" monitors seem to be happy enough with TN panels (until recently, you could only get TN panels at 22") so what's the business logic for LG.Philips to add another size screen to their production line? The retooling costs just wouldn't justify it. S-IPS panels are used in higher end screens and that market segment has pretty much decided that 24/30" screens are the current sweet-spot.

It's a pitty that ATI and nvidia are still catching up. My poor 8800GT couldn't even hold a candle to a 24" screen.

So what you think guys? Also in hight wise how meny inches would I be gaining going fron a 20.1" to a 22"/24"

One thing, in regards to gaming, some reviewers point out the fact that not gaming at native resolution leads to a slight blur which, if you ignore the effect on the GUI which should still be perfectly readable, can be considered as a kind of free AA.
 
If I went from a 20.1" to a 22", that would be nearly a inch and a haf bigger in hight,, would that seem very noticable and worth £200 for the upgrade? Has anyone got a 20.1" and a 22" that they could show me side by side?
 
I went for a 20" SM206BW after seeing my brothers 22" LG because i preferred the resolution - both 1680x1050 but on the 20" it's much sharper image cos the pixels are smaller so i dont think i could go for a 24" and game at its non native res, it just wouldnt cut it IMO.
 
've just got a 24" after a 19", much prefer it to my housematers 22", it just seems to work. Althogh a 22" looks fantastic too, i just wanted a bigger one ;)

I thought my 19" 4:5 lcd was brill quality and stuff, but when I went back to it a few days ago, it didnt look right at all, the font size looked way too big, not as sharp and non wide screen. Get this when I first had the 20.1" I didnt really like it cos of the hight loss, but now I couldnt go back to my 19". It just shows you what you get use to.

Would text, pics ect look the same size on a 20.1" and a 24" due to res diff??

ummm Might just buy another 20.1" and run both in dual screen cos got quite use to this 20.1" now and got the bright and con perfect now, or in my eyes it is anyway.Only prob with the monitor, theres a fair amout of bleeding........ ummm I dont know, do i get a larger screen or not, and am I wasting my money if I get another 20"?
 
I went from 2x17 standard to 1x24 widescreen and it is great for work and gaming (at non-native resolutions). Sell your 20" and buy a 24" rather than buying another 20"! Bigger is always better!
