Hi,

Am quite close to buying this monitor now :) However, one thing slightly worries me. On some of thr reviews its says the monitor does 1680 x 1050 @ 60Hz and on others its says @ 75 Hz. Only reason I mention this is when switching from 75Hz to 60Hz the display seems different (Have a HannsG 19" WS), not sure how to describe it, just different.

Can someone confirm at what rate the monitor does in fact refresh at :) I'm very tempted to pop into the new store on the way home from work :)

THanks

Erm, just got this monitor last week - it's GREAT.
Let me know what do you want me to check and how.

I've took delivery of one these screens meself yesterday and looking at the dispaly properties it quotes 1680 x 1050 at 60hz, but it'll do 1280 x 1024 at 75hz, so it appears you'd get a higher refresh rate at lower reasolution.:)
I certainly wouldn't worry about how the 2209wa performs at 60hz at it's native res, 1680 x 1050, the image quality is outstanding.

Well i'm on XP here at work:

Right Click Desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor

Then say what your Refresh rate is.

Although have read and watched quite a few reviews on the 2209WA now and am very impressed. May go and pick it up in a min :)

If it were me, I'd leave it at the reported refresh rate, 1hz ain't gonna make a lot of difference I'd have thought. If you do get one theres a thread running in this forum and one of the posts gives some guides to monitor settings which I've used and makes the screen a lot nicer to look at than the factory settings, well worth a look, basically brightness at 10, contrast at 70 and choose the colour mode that appeals to you the most.
Like I said I've only had this screen for a day and I'm totally knocked out by it, it really is that good.:)

I'm sooooo tempted at the minute, especially after watching the video reviews on the tube. Might actually just order this when I get in as don't finish for another hour :(

Well ordered last night and decided to pick up in store (so I could have a nosey at their new shop basically :) ) - so won't be able to pickup till Saturday :( Although I may be able to sneek off early today, muwhahaha

Patience young grasshopper, patience :)

Well just set it up and have a quick go of quakelive. Oh my, what a serious and noticeable difference to my hanns g. Everythign seems more fluid and smooth. USB ports are nice extra too :)

Can't believe how much space I have :)

Is there a good guide anywhere to set it up a bit better, as I'm using the default settings curtrently, which are quite bright.

Also, is it worth using the DVI cable from the box, as I'm using the £4 one I bought from OCUK ages ago (have all cables in a wire wrap and its a pain in arse to un wrap). .

Not sure about the cable myself, I am using the one that came with it and it's great.
Also I am still on default settings :o should that be changed?

Well I dunno. But in a lot of reviews I was reading they all say the default settings aren't amazing and that there are plently of guides out there that give a way better picture.

Been fedup with my 2 broken viewsonic 19" panels that are now out of warranty, ordered one of these to cheer me up and act as a worthy replacement :D

YOu won't disappointed. I honestly can't fault mine at all. Amazing picture and love the additional USB ports, they are really handy :)

/\/\\/\/\/\/\/\ What he said. I've had mine about 4-5 days now and I can safely say its the best monitor I've owned. I much prefer it ovwer my old 24" samsung, and once set up as per the numerous guides I've seen its even better.
One of my better purchases.:)
