226BW - How to find panel type?

Angel: Did you buy the E2201W-B2 or the E2201W-B1. There appears to be two versions. Note, the B2 is 205 and therefore more expensive that the 226BW.

I got the B1 model very happy, post your email ill tell you where I got mine from - I cant find the option to PM you. or add your email to your profile :)

my mate opposite me got the B2 model TBH i cant tell the difference both are spot on.

well since you had bought it then really you should have spent more time trying to get the colours right you never know it may have been your other monitor with the bad colours but you were used to them.

im not trying to defend samsungs panel lottery as it is a bit of a **** take and ive said so many times on the 226bw threads...if you pay for a samsung panel then a samsung panel is what you should get. i know there are lots who disagree with that but i think your bonkers:p

^^^ i totally agree. TBH, i was aware of the panel lottery, but i didn't realise that it was this bad. I compared the screen with my HP laptop and LG screen so i'm pretty sure that it was well out.

Sounds like the B2 is fine then. Cheers Angel.

Samsung Service Function

1. Adjust the brightness and contrast to 0
2. Press Menu
3. Press source (second on the right)for 5 seconds
You will see the "service function" menu. Focus on the "Panel info"
AU M220EW01 means from "A"
AM LCD220M1 means from "S"

-------------

Just if anyone else was wondering.

Thanks for the info. I was informed that this menu is no longer available, or does not display the panel info. In any case, i have sent the monitor back, so i'll see what the boys at OCUK say.
