23 mile skydive!

They should have had anyone other than this bloke doing the commentary. Should have been Dr Alice Roberts or Jennifer Aniston.

Serious question, what's the possibility of using balloons to lift small space craft into space? or do they not get high enough? Could you haul something up high then fly it like a plane out of the atmosphere?

Would be a shame for them to trip over due to something as daft as a visor heater at 60 odd thousand feet considering they've already completed a jump at 96,000ft before.

I really wish we had some medical telemetry, he looks like such a cool customer, ide love to know what his heart rate, blood pressure etc is like, just out of sheer curiosity.

they were talking about reducing ballast before, to increase speed of assent. can they do that mid flight if its not going high enough/fast enough?

Question , the higher he gets the does accent speed up or slow down? I can't work it out my physics aren't good!

It depends on the dynamics of the balloon.

As altitude increases air resistance reduces, but the "archemedes effect", i.e. the difference in density between the balloon and the exterior which gives the upward force, becomes harder to maintain.

I'd imagine that the rate of ascent will be calibrated to be roughly constant, but will slow dramatically when he gets closer to the target altitude (at which point the balloon will be close to its maximum inflation).
