24" Monitor for ~£250

Hi All

First post

My son bought this recently and I want to get him a decent monitor for his birthday next month.
Spec is:
Intel 8th Generation 3.6GHz Quad Core
8GB DDR4 RAM
Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB

He wants a 24".
What monitor would be a good match for that spec without breaking the budget...?

Seems a poor choice tbh - GTX 1060 won't cope at 4K, and freesync obviously won't work with with an NVIDIA card.

Well, 4K monitors are still not very affordable, and for the price, it is the best image quality that you can get:

What sort of games does he play - if mostly fpses, then faster response/higher refresh rates are probably a better choice or if refresh rate doesn't matter but you still want a higher res screen, then a 2560x1440 screen would be better suited than a 4k:

e.g. something like:
