24" Showdown

ON specs there probably the sammy. longer warranty. Has hdmi and a faster response time. PCM knows more about actual panel quality but the samsung looks better imo.

Samsung has a better quality image and looks great! I know as I'm staring at one right now. Only problem with the sammy is the stand sucks. The BenQ one probably does too though.

Cheers guys, i've read both stands aren't the best of quality but doesn't bother me much.

I was going for the sammy but read the reviews on the benq and questioned my decision.

They're both pretty old, but the popularity of the BenQ was that it was a breakthrough priced 24" LED panel. The actual IQ hasn't stood up that well, but remember the majority of people who upgraded to the (cheap) BenQ were no doubt impressed as their 10 year old 17" panels were crud in comparison.

If you want the cheapest LED because, well, it's LED, the BenQ is OK, but if you want the best image quality and don't care about the backlight (and energy savings) then the Samsung is a fine choice.

I wrote a big post about the P2450H after I got it, it's on my created threads (on my profile somewhere). Something about 24" monitors no doubt.

I'm looking into getting a new monitor as well. Read quite a few threads, and PCM2's knowledgeable comments, and the P2450 looks like a very good monitor for the money. Can't decide which I like the look of most, the P2450 or the B2430. And then there's the BX2450, which as far as desire goes, is screaming out, buy me! Do I want to spend £200 though, when I don't use the PC as much as I used to. That's something only I can decide obviously, but I'm wondering if the £40 extra for the BX2450 would be the better decision. Lol, it was far easier 6 years ago when I got my current Iiyama, far less choice!

I had this choice a couple of weeks ago, but I went for the Ilyama E2407HDS and it's fantastic. Sharp pictures, good quality... I did get it on offer though. ;)

I was looking at getting the samsung BX2450 just waiting for it to creep down in price a bit somewhere.
It does seem like the best around the £150-£200 mark, not sure it's worth £200 though am waiting until it's £170 ish or less myself.

In my opinion, based purely on looks, i would get the samsung :) Choosing monitors is so much easier when its not for your own eyes to look at for the next 3 years

Would be nice, but some well known sites are still selling it for £230-£260. Still you never know. :)

I was going to say. It has just recently come down from £250ish and it far outclasses anything else 24" and sub-£200 for build quality and image quality. The P2450H still offers a lot for its price and offers better image vibrancy than the BX2450 if that's your thing. Sorry that I'm repeating myself here ;).
