Hi

Just finished watching the end of season 6 and once again I can say I'm very impressed. As S7 is not out until january I thought I'd do some research. I've heard / been told, that there are discs or episodes available that are sequels/prequels inbetween each series.

I am having trouble finding such things and wondered if anyone could confirm this who watches 24 here. I know its probably too early for a season 6 interim disc but as I have watched all other seasons i need something to sustain my 24 thirst.

any ideas?

Season 6 was not very good at all compared to previous seasons . Now THEY were godly.

I used to love 24. Seasons 1 through 5 were the absolute best things on (American) TV at the time.

However, this season is unfortunate as it's had to compete with Heroes.

To be fair, S6 was stunning until the end of the Fayed arc at about ep 18. However, the rest seems tacked on to fill up 24 eps. There's no incentive to start sitting down saying "I wish the next season was here next week" which I have done in the past. I'm devoting my waiting energies to the next season of Heroes instead. The best part of the last 6 eps was about half an hour into the last ep, with Jack and Bill going in on the helicopter. That was pretty good. The rest was just "meh". Especially the ending. :(

The prequels you are looking for are (as far as I know) on the DVD box sets from Season 3 onwards. (The prequel for S4 is on the S3 box set, if you see what I mean...)

To be honest I thought after episode 4 of this season it wasn't particularly great.

It just seemed very contrived and pretty much all of the story lines had already been done in very previous seasons.
I have heard that for day 7 they are going to do something very different. Hopefully it will be decent.

I was a bit disappointed with this season. The producers themselves have admitted they got the storyline stuck in a bit of a rut with the direction they took it - you got to remember the entire season isn't planned out far in advance and the creative element is still ongoing whilst episodes are being aired.

It was also pretty unrealistic, even for 24.

{SPOILERS alluded to}

If the chinese had stolen Russian defence plans why on earth would Russia start threatening the US, surely both Russia and America would put heavy pressure on the chinese. Why would Russia risk going to war with the US, its ally, just because it was ****** Jack gave them the chip. Why not attack chinese targets in Asia? Stupid really. There was a bloody chinese led incursion on american soil and the daughter of the former Secretary of Defense kindapped and tortured by them both of which could be construed as acts of war not to mention the chinese military submarine. It just wasn't a realistic storyline and was a pants way to end the season. I'm looking forward to Season 7 though where there will be a major shakeup and apparently CTU may not even feature in the show.

Season 6 was a bloody joke, not to put too fine a point on it. And the ending was the most feeble yet. They've totally run out of ideas and it's sad to see the show limping on and getting more and more laughable.

(I'll still watch the next season though, naturally :p)

I thought S6 was pretty good to be honest. I didn't agree with the nuke thing... but I thought it was okay.

I've just (literally) finished watching S1 to remind myself and was disappointed to see a reptition in themes.

Hmmm

Season 1 - Good
Season 2 - Awesome
Season 3 - Awesome
Season 4 - Complete crap, it was like a joke, everytime they stopped his plot he jumped up with a new one, too start-stop
Season 5 - Got boring and too many main characters died, poor tony :(
Season 6 - Good

I would go with this.

Season 1 - Groundbreaking, nailbiting TV
Season 2 - Carried on from season 1 and improved further.
Season 3 - Apart from the first half of the season being completely useless wasn't all that bad.
Season 4 - Again not awful but below the quality of the first 2 seasons.
Season 5 - Best season acting wise, most shocks, emotional etc (my personal favourite, however I really miss David Pamer)
Season 6 - Trash, absolutely hated it, hated the whole season and the only bit i did like was the ending.

And lol, chloe actually smiled at the end of season 6... Thats groundbreaking TV :D

But season 6, it was nice to have a palmer back. You know what I want to see in season 7... 'Bauer and Buchanan; Vigilantes'.

Palmer the ineffectual whispering president? I hope he dies in hospital ;) Powers Boothe kicked ass as the VP and hopefully he will be president next time.

I thought forum policy was not to discuss episodes that hadn't aired in the UK?

People would do well to tag their spoilers too.

spoiler alert !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack shoots a baddy DEAD !

6 was ok, but did get a bit boring after fayed died.

Sorry about the spoiler... And I hated that big meat head vice president.

Doyle was a surprisingly good character.

Jack shoots and kills 10 Chinese guys then find his nephew pointing a gun at his Uncle's head.
Jack: Don't do it! You don't want to have to live with the guilt of taking another man's life!
:D

I though this was a great season until the ending which I felt was a little anti-climax. 24 has been competing with Heroes for me too, and lost imo, roll on Season 7 and I hope it is awesome :)
