24

Loved 24, just watch it for what it is.

The scene where Jack shoots Ryan Chapelle at the end of one of the episodes still haunts me.

Where he shoots Curtis is great too, then when he's having a break down, a nuke goes off a few blocks away!

I agree, as if it were a movie, there would be no adverts, and thus no excuse not to have a twenty four hour movie in true real time. :D

I'd need to watch this at home where I could pause for food/toilet/sleep breaks. This is why I'm not a CTU agent - I have to attend to my needs! :p

season 3 and 5 are godlike peices of tv, for both very different reasons. the other seasons were ok but it kinda all went downhill after season 5. I did used to enjoy the thrill of the 4 episode weekend premier each season though - was such a buzz around that.

1-5 are the best Seasons in my opinion. I watched the first Season when it was aired on BBC 2, back when the BBC had the rights to air it before Sky. I don't rate 6-8 as highly as the first 5, but I did enjoy them. Season 6 is the weakest of the lot, and is generally considered the weakest from most die hard 24 fans - just read around the fan sites if you are unsure. Season 7 greatly improves in quite a few ways over 6, and I love the twists in that. Season 8 has its moments but was disjointed at times, a bit like 7, which is why I don't rate them as highly and 1-5, which I feel are more consistent.

Anyway, it's hard to talk about specifics without spoiling too much. Just watch them all, and make your own opinion. I'm sure you'll enjoy them. I know a lot of people who came into 24 late prefer the later Seasons for some reason, but I guess everyone has their likes and dislikes regarding the strengths and weaknesses of the show. For me, I prefer 24 not just for Jack but the strength of the characters around him.

I found that the seasons went up and down...

1 was amazing, 2 was okay, 3 was one of the best, 4 was a bit meh, 5 was awesome, and then 6/7/8 were all okay. The worst bit of 24 is the Kim Bauer storylines they put in... Gets a bit annoying at times and she isn't that good to look at either!

Been re-watching the show with the box-set I got last Xmas started Se 07 this evening.

Evil Tony Almeida, so good!

Not even finished season 1 and I'm getting fed up of this.

The amount of times his family get kidnapped/threatened is ******* stupid!

They had to watched when they were on TV, especially in the early days as they were a bit of an 'event'. Boxset viewing ruins the anticipation (especially for those double episodes!) and it also means you skip the slow bits.

I've only ever got through Days 1-4 and will happily state that Day 1 was the best of those, with a shifty looking Tony and his odd facial hair being a particular highlight. The final few seconds nailed it in to classic telly status, for me.

The endless perils of Kim were part of the charm. As for his wife... Well. :(

Just finished the series and that part had me punching the air, she irritated me throughout for some reason :p

Decent enough season all told and I will buy season 2, I find it a bit far fetched at times but it is TV. Also loved it when the president got rid of his wife (well senator) she was a very easy to hate character.

I personally hated Chloe. How the **** did that surly, argumentative, pout-faced bint ever pass an annual appraisal, each year, in god damn CTU for flips sake???
