Anyone with this monitor noticed any "refreshing" when looking for it. You can say it is flicker, but is extremely minor (not something you can tell right away) and you need to look for it.

Also, any sync issues in videos?

I dont know if its a fault and should sent back.

the twinkling you describe can be seen on quite a few monitors....are you using VGA or DVI? DVI will often eliminate the issue, maybe check connections too. you prob can only notice it when looking very closely at the screen though

yep, another thing which could cause issues, although i assume you're running at 1920 x 1200 @ 60hz are you?

I am using DVI.

I tried changing the Hz and I think it got better.

1920 x 1200 @ 60hz was more noticable than 1920 x 1200 @ 59hz

And yes, you need to look for it and close enough.

by the way, you guys know if the video sync is a panel limitation or some setting can fix it? Is not ghosting, but it feels like it when there is motion, if you know what I mean.

Thanks a lot!

ps: Badass, is there any setting in the "secret menu" that has to be set/unset for better results? or secret menu is for dignostics etc?

I got worried and hooked up my 930BF next to the 2407WFP. Dual screen.

The samsung is TN panel I guess right?

However, they both have the same video noise and I can say the dell is better.

Next, the white and black on the dell is no match to the samsung. the white on the dell is white, on the samsung is yellow! (I tried settings, its just yellow next to the dell's)

Responsiveness is the same, cant tell the difference even if the 930BF is 4ms and the dell 6ms.

I tried BF2 and the same problem with fuzzyness when you move on both.

So I guess I should be happy. More space, better color, crisp image.

The only problem now is I need a new GFX card to top up quality and AA :D

ps: I redid all connections, cleared all connectors with special spray and tighened all screws to the max on the DVI. Also changed wall plug and kettle wires with my best. Flicker is gone now, I guess it was caused by some kind of interfierence or dodgy conenction.

Worth knowing that one, thanks

I can still feel some kind of problem with Vsync when I watch movies. Is this the monitor or some setting I missed. I dont know how to describe this. I feel it when there is movement in the movie, maybe is my eyes too demanding. I dont know :( Isnt 16ms (b2b) 6ms (g2g) enough for movie playback?

Pls if you have used the same monitor, give me some feedback.

well response time would probably not impact the tearing you describe....have you tried different media players?

I am trying now. I tried Apple quick time with an HD 1080p trailer using dual monitor (930BF - 2407WFP) and watched half on each to compare. It felt like it was low on FPS. Do I need a better gfx for 24" monitor? maybe is low fps. Can I test this with some tool? Any other suggestion to make sure the dell is not faulty? Tools/software I mean, or any test you know of by experience.

Thanks a lot, as I am so frustrated I was ready to sent it back and just force my self on the old 930BF (which now looks awfull and the pixel pitch looks like banding to me after using the dell for a while)

Any1 know how to get the usb slots working, had my 2407 for a while now and just tried pluggin my mouse and keyboard in2 the side of the monitor, but nothing happened? Are they only for cameras etc?

You have plugged the USB lead from the monitor into a USB port on your PC, right? My mouse worked straight away, as did the SD-card reader...

lol, never even noticed that cable, sorted thanks

You guys got any tearing when watching video? I am not sure if its a technology limitation or my screen and if I should sent it back while I still can :(

I am not very expert with LCDs and I dont know how to check if its faulty.

Just set up my screen today.

Super impressed by it :D :D

Only issue is that the wide mode is grayed out and stuck on fill mode. It's the rev 04 so why can't I change this?? wanted to watch HD trailers in 1:1 mode
Please advise

I had the same, but when you set a resolution other than native, its not grey anymore. Set desktop to 1280x1024 for example and try the setting, you can choose 1:1 now.

Hows movies on yours? Any tearing? it seems we have the same screens. a04 mine also.

I got mine this morning, it's all set up and I've been playing with it for about an hour. It's bloody superb :D

Mine's a rev 04, no dead pixel I can see. I've been watching Casino Royale for about 30 mins, looks great, no tearing as far as I can tell.

The IQ is shockingly good compared to my Viewsonic 930P, text looks much sharper than the 930p

I noticed the Dell came with some software/drivers. Do I need to install this? The monitor looks great without it at the moment.

Isn't the disc that comes with it just a electronic version of the manual and specification? I couldn't see any drivers or anything on my disc?

I think they only added driver with A04 so I didn't find them immediately.
There should be a readme.txt file in the root folder of the CD explaining how to install the driver. it's only a .ini, there is no .exe to install it.
There are 2 folders called Windows XP/2000, and Windows Vista.

You basically go to display, properties, advanced. Monitor, settings, add driver and then specify the relelvant folder on the CD.
Hope it works!
