Hi all, been looking at replacing my Vertex 2e 60GB drive, and wanted to get something in the 240gb region, or maybe a 180gb. Was looking at getting a Corsair Force 3, which is £239.99. But then I saw that their 120gb drive is only £105.95.

Would I be better getting 2 of the 120GB drives and RAID 0'ing them? Are there any benefits/disadvantages to doing that?

Or should I just plump for say the OCZ Agility 3 240gb which is cheaper than both options at £209.99.

Have heard that the Corsair's are better/more reliable than those OCZ drives......can anyone help me make this tough decision?!

Thanks

Currently stuck in exactly the same boat as you and I want to suggest the option that seems best to me - after many hours of research: Corsair Performance Pro 256GB.

It is quicker than the M4, can keep up with the Vertex 3 Max IOPS in a lot of benchmarks and has very solid - and consistent - read / write times across the board. It is an expensive drive but you can currently get it on here for £239.99 (this week only) which is a really good deal. I am currently debating whether to buy one as I type.

I am building ready for Ivy, but have yet to actually checkout on any of the baskets I have filled.
