24in Monitor Query

Samsung should be better, they make good quality monitors.

I agree that the image quality of the Samsung monitors is good, however, I have a 24" Samsung 245B monitor and personally think that the build quality is average. There is a lack of robustness about the build when compared to some other monitor vendors products. However, it's just a personal observation.

Been trying this baby out for awhile now and I absolutely love it!

So far I've been playing Crysis and AVP on it and they look amazing! The build quality is superb as well; it really does ooze quality. Blue LED on the front and touch sensitive buttons as well - very stylish!

The stand IS adjustable - I'm unsure what the other reviewer was on about. It doesn't tilt side to side but moves up and down perfeclty fine.

So far, 5/5. Can't fault it really. 1080p movies look awesome. Good purchase methinks!

Just bought the BenQ. She's very nice and massive compared to my 5 year old 19" AG Neovo!!

Not had time to play with the settings yet, but she is very good money for value so far. No dead pixels either!

Need some pics.........;)

Buying a monitor is a big decision, I went for a second hand 24" Dell from one of the old lines as i'm a bit of a cheapskate lol. It's an E248WFP, don't rul out buying second hand you could get a better panel for similar price.

Had my B2430 delivered today.. So far its a bit so so ...

Anything i use on the HDMi results in a very blurry picture, Text on icons is blurred around the edges. Even the Xbox 360 via HDMi looks blury it lacks definition.

If i use VGA its razor sharp, so i,m thinking it must be a setting somewhere ?

Anyone any ideas...

Cheers

When I connected HDMI to my Samsung P2770HD, I saw that it was very very sharp, there was setting to give tags to each output so i labelled my HDMI as DVI PC or PC and the picture came up perfect, although I needed to increase overscan for it to fill the screen.

EDIT: The Setting is at:

Menu > Input > Edit Name

Have a look there

I have gone through every setting and the Pic on this monitor via HDMi is awful..

Just called OC tech support and the chap said all samsung monitors look rubbish on HDMi. so it looks like i will have to return the monitor as its unusable reading this webpage is almost immpossible as the text is blurred out of focus.

Its a shame when using VGA it is fabulous but i need the HDMi to work..

That's a lie. I am on my samsung monitor and connected with HDMI and the picture is brilliant!

Why would i lie ??

It could be a fault with this screen but the pic is awful when using the HDMi..

No I was saying it's a lie the fact that you said the support guy said all sanding monitors look horrible on hdmi.

There may well be a fault or you can check up on google.

Well thats what he said, its a common problem with samsung monitors and his one was the same..

I had an LG a while back that was perfect on HDMi..

Screen sorted now. After finally getting through to samsung and speaking to a very helpfull chap i now have a perfect HDMi image.
All i needed to do was set the image size to auto and not 16x9 and set the overscan in CCC until everything looked good. Now the HDMi image looks as good as DVi and looks sharp and good for the 360...

Samsung blurry hdmi image (at least on the pxxx range) is widely acknowledged
on French groups and there is a partial solution that fixes 50hz hdmi mode
re-name in monitor gui hdmi input as pc (source -> tools -> edit name)
see my other post

I'm still lookingfor any solution for 24hz/60hz to possibly improve Blu-ray
playback hence my re-post
(from judder I suspect anyway 24hz support is simulated and really just 50hz with repeated frames)
