Gordon Strachan quotes > all.

Reporter: This might sound like a daft question, but you'll be happy to get your first win under your belt, won't you?
Strachan: You're right. It is a daft question. I'm not even going to bother answering that one. It is a daft question, you're spot on there.

Absolutely none of that compares to the near technically retarded level of Steve McClaren who when interviewed by a Dutch TV channel, not only affected a Dutch accent but started speaking in broken English.
lots and lots of people do this when speaking to foreigners in a foreign country... even more so if they have been living there and learning the language which includes copying the accent.

half the staff at my work do it when talking to the polish lads. even though the polish lads speak fine english people speak to them with bits of polish accent

FACT

john motson went to the same school as my dad (in bury st edmunds) he was in the year below and was known as 'snotty motty' as he was a little squirt. gary newbon was in the same year aswell and my dad played rugby with him and said he was a big lad at school but could run extremely fast for his size. he didn't get picked on like motson :D

Very few of the staff at your work would have a camera in their face at the time knowing full well they were talking to the world.

Joey Barton has come out with some real corkers though.

"I don't want to leave Newcastle, my hands are tied."

No they are not you tool, just stay there and stop complaining about your wages.

Although the Mclaren thing is funny the point still stands that people naturally mirror accents of other people to some extent. If I talk to an Irish person for too long I start putting a bit of a lilt on my words :/

I'm sure some one from the club said that McLaren was told to put on a dutch accent, so the players, fans & media could understand him better and to help him learn the language quicker.
